Mercedes OM603 OM605 OM606 Tropical Thermostat 75°C

This 75°C tropical thermostat for your Mercedes OM603, OM605, or OM606 engine will solve temperature problems. Pre-chamber diesel engines are known to be thermally susceptible because the hot pre-chambers place a heavy load on the cooling system, and the long engine block results in poor coolant supply to the rear cylinders. Generally, these engines, especially after 30 years of service, often run at excessively high temperatures. During periods of high load, there is little buffer to absorb the increased thermal stress. Furthermore, a consistently high operating temperature negatively impacts components of the cooling system as well as the cylinder head gasket.

This thermostat, which opens at 75°C, significantly reduces the load on the cooling system and other engine components, and allows for the easy handling of temperature spikes during short-term increased loads.

Also suitable for other engines such as: OM601, OM602 and OM604.

Important: Only fits in combination with thermostat cover A6032030474! On some models, the thermostat and housing cover are a single unit. In these cases, you must first replace the cover mentioned above.
